Pre-Confirmation 5th & 6th grade:
Meets every Wednesday from August 22, 2007 to March 5, 2008 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Students are taught by DCE Christina Stackle and DMM Sherry Bierwagen and use the CPH "My Journey in Faith" curriculum.
Confirmation 7th & 8th grade:
Meets every Wednesday from August 22, 2007 to March 5, 2008 from 4:00-5:30 p.m. The 8th grade Confirmands participate in a Profession of Faith service on March 12 where they will be questioned by Pastor Kastens. Afterwards a special reception is held to congratulate the youth.
Confirmation Banners:
Each year our youth have the opportunity to choose their own Confirmation verse and banner design during class. Together with their parents they create a banner for their Confirmation that hangs in the sanctuary on Confirmation Sunday.
Confirmation Sunday March 16, 2008:
Confirmation Sunday is traditionally held on Palm Sunday. In recognition of this important faith milestone our 7th grade youth and parents host a breakfast for the Confirmation family and their secret prayer partners. The Confirmation service is held immediately following at 10:30 a.m.
Confirmation Retreats:
Every other year our 7th and 8th grade Confirmands are invited to attend a special retreat entitled "God and Me: The Sixth Commandment." The retreat is designed to introduce our confirmands to the sexual and physical changes that are occurring in them and the personal, sexual, and spiritual development that will take place. This retreat is provided to support parents as they help their child learn and internalize strong Christian attitudes and values about sexuality - this gift from God.
